Connect with your community at IVA!
We value parent involvement at Intellectual Virtues Academy Middle School. Our Parent Teacher Association (家长会) was incorporated prior to opening the school in the summer of 2013. The goal of the 家长会 at IVA is to create opportunities for families to get involved. To get involved check out more details in the weekly parent newsletter, 伟德BETVlCTO家长会主席, or connect with the office to learn more.

The IVA 家长会 raises funds for field trips, 教室浓缩, 体育设备, 学校的舞蹈, 学生活动, 俱乐部, 室外美化, 和更多的! A portion of the membership fee goes to support and advocate for children on the state and national level.

Anyone can be a member: 老师, 学校管理人员, 学生, 父母, 爷爷奶奶, 兄弟姐妹, 阿姨, 叔叔, 朋友, 甚至邻居!

家长会 General Association Meeting Dates

IVA's 家长会 meets quarterly. 会议包括 家长教育 topics that our 父母 have expressed interest in.

Points of Access: Parent Connection to School

Ways for 父母 to be involved in their 学生' learning and character formation at IVA.

  • 〇“家长学院之夜” Be a part of the discussion! How do we use an intellectual virtues approach at home? 
  • 家长会议, 应用 the virtues to learning! What is my child's relationship with learning and how does that play out in the classroom? 
  • Illuminate and Google Classroom - 支持你的学生! How can I sit alongside my child and help them navigate assignments and communication with 老师? 

家长会's ANNUAL FUNDRAISER :: FIT-A-THON

IVA's 家长会 holds one main fundraiser each year to sponsor field trips, 舞蹈, and provide for a thriving program at IVA complete with Chromebooks, 电子产品, benches and shade for lunch, 还有更多. 

The Fit-A-Thon is intended to be a fundraiser where the community reaches out to their 朋友, 邻居和家人, 和如何 当地企业 with a goal of $20,000 a year or about $85 per student.

***The school does an Annual Family Fund whose goal is to raise $60,000 each year in order to maintain our small class size of ~26 学生 to each teacher.

Family support is critical to the success of IVA’s unique educational model. Each family at IVA is encouraged to volunteer in ways that fit your unique skills, 经验, 和激情. Parents will have the opportunity to serve in a variety of different ways consistent with their schedules, including but not limited to participation in the PTSA, 教室的援助, 事件陪伴, 事件的领导, 科学公正的判断, 办公室协助, 实地考察陪伴, after school 俱乐部 and activities, 放学后学院, 放学后辅导, 和特殊伟德BETVlCTOR. (No parent or student shall be penalized or receive differential treatment as a result of not performing volunteer hours.) We believe that an expectation of this sort is critical to building the kind of educational atmosphere and community that will allow IVA to realize its unique educational vision.
 
学生, 老师, 工作人员, 父母 and community all benefit from the work of individuals who give of their time and talents. IVA has a comprehensive Volunteer Handbook that will be available on our website and at Orientation we will explain how you can get involved as parent volunteer. 我们欢迎你的意见!
